During the first round of recent storms, we experienced power outages at seven sanitary lift stations across the area. These lift stations are a critical part of our wastewater system, and when they lose power, immediate action is required to prevent backups and maintain service.

We’re incredibly grateful for the local and out-of-state electrical line crews who worked tirelessly to restore power throughout the day. Their quick and coordinated efforts allowed our systems to return to normal operation as quickly as possible.

The District’s investment in on-site backup generators at several of our larger, high-capacity lift stations proved invaluable during this time. However, not all stations have permanent backup power. That’s where our dedicated field staff stepped up in a big way. Scott Friend and Bryant Kube responded immediately, staying after hours to manually pump and maintain several smaller lift stations to prevent service disruptions. Their willingness to answer the call—day or night—is a testament to their commitment and professionalism. Thank you, Scott and Bryant, for your hard work and dedication.

As we prepare for another round of rain and storms, we want to remind everyone:
